  This film takes five young Marine recruits from basic training in 1967 to the jungles of Vietnam in 1968. Wise-cracking macho Vinnie (Michael Lembeck), athlete-turned-drug-user Billy Ray (Andrew Stevens), hippy Dave (Craig Wasson), drug dealer Tyrone (Stan Shaw), and aspiring writer Alvin (James Canning). Lots of action in this story that attempts to show insights of war and its effects on those who participate.
