After a traveling circus gives young Napoleon's (Johnny Whitaker) grandfather (Will Geer) an aging lion, Gramps dies and Napoleon is afraid that he will be sent to an orphanage. To cover up Gramp's death, Napoleon convinces goat herder Danny (Michael Douglas) to help bury Gramps and keep his death a secret. Danny comes to Napoleon's aid and then leaves for the wilderness. When authorities investigate, Napoleon is joined by Samantha (Jodie Foster), and they work their way across Oregon with their pet lion searching for Danny. Disney.

Jack Griffith (Jackie Gleason) is a wealthy, lovable alcoholic whose wife Amberlyn (Glynis Johns) can't handle any more of his pranks. When their daughter Augusta (Laurel Goodwin) wanted the pony she saw in the circus parade, Jack bought her the entire circus. That was the final straw for Amberlyn who flees to her father's (Charles Ruggles) home in Texarkana. Jack, of course, follows in hot pursuit. This film won the Academy Award for Best Song: "Call Me Irresponsible."
