Rodgers and Hammerstein scored a hit with this story about carnival barker Billy (Gordon MacRae) and the sweet, innocent Julie (Shirley Jones). They fall in love, Julie becomes pregnant, and Billy is killed in an attempted robbery. Fifteen years later, Billy is allowed to return to Earth for one day to come to the aid of his daughter who was born after his death.
