  Dan Kehoe (Clark Gable) rides into a ghost town to look for a stolen treasure and runs into the town's only inhabitants: Ma MacDade (Jo Van Fleet) and the wives (Eleanor Parker, Jean Willes, Barbara Nichols, and Sara Shane) of her four outlaw sons. The sons had stolen and hidden a fortune in gold. Kehoe believes the wives hold the key to where the gold is stashed and plays them off against each other to find the gold.

  a great heart warming story fess parker does a outstandong job as clint barkley freed from prison for a crime he did not committ and we find out later his evil brother did it. he finds the black stallion and trains him to be the best cow pony around only to have his evil brother show up and make him lose his precious black stallion as he tries to find it the japanese attack pearl harbor and force clint to call off the search until after ww2 and he come home to find his horse owned by a junk man and mistreated by rodeo people broken down and in poor health clint works with the horse and turns him loose. great story tear jerker scenery is beautiful great musical score fine acting
