The lives of college students Scott (Kiefer Sutherland) and Ralph (Robert Downey, Jr.) are affected by the Vietnam War. Scott's Marine Corps brother is killed in the war. Meanwhile, Ralph's sister Beth (Winona Ryder) uses her valedictory speech to protest the war and then joins Scott to protest the war in this shallow look at the effects of war in 1969.
