  After a girl's body, scarred with fang marks, is found hanging in the church bell, the Monsignor (Rupert Davies) performs exorcism rites at Count Dracula's (Christopher Lee) castle. By accident, Dracula is freed from the ice that had imprisoned him, and now the Monsignor must pay the consequences. First on Dracula's list is the Monsignor's niece Anna (Marion Mathie) who works at a nearby pub, but the Monsignor seeks revenge and is only steps behind the vampire Dracula.

With help from his crazed assistant, Dr. Simon Helder (Shane Briant), he creates a new "monster" (Dave Prowse) from body parts of the asylum's criminal patients–and the gore continues. This film is Terence Fisher's final entry in his series of Frankenstein stories.
