| | An exquisite movie! | 10/18/2006 | | I saw the movie when it opened in Santa Barbara in 1983. I have been trying to find a copy, off and on ever since. The imagery, the reflections, the insight into North and South American cultures are extraordinary. |

| | Minneapolis friend 04/13/2009 | | JACK'S EXPERIENCE AS A WWII AVIATOR WAS WELL USED. HE KNEW HIS AGENDA AND WAS INTELLIGENT WITHOUT BEING ARROGANT . IF YOU KNEW HIS TRUE FRIENDS THEY WERE ''NORMAL PEOPLE'' OR ACTORS/ACTRESSES WHO DIDN'T PLAY THE '' HOLLYWOOD SCENE''. MY FATHER GREW UP WITH BOTH JACK AND JOYCE AND DIDN'T SUFFER FOOLS. HE WASN'T IMPRESSED WITH CELEBRITIES NOR DID JACK. DADDY'S FAVORITE 'MOST DOWN TO EARTH, INTELLIGENT, GENUINE ARTICLE' WAS PAUL NEWMAN, ONE OF JACK'S BEST FRIENDS. JACK NEVER RECEIVED THE CREDIT HE DESERVED...HE WAS AN INTELLIGENT MAN BORN OF CATHOIC IMMIGRANTS....I NEVER OBSERVED ANY PRETENSE OR POSTURING IN JACK. HIS SON, TIM, VISITED WHEN I WAS OUT OF TOWN ON EMERGENCY FAMILY BUSINESS....HOW ARE YOU TIM? WE WERE AWARE OF DIFFERENCES AND ESTRANGEMENT.....PLEASE CALL ME....MOM HAS ALZTHEIMERS AND DOESN'T REMEMBER YOUR VISIT.......I'D LIKE TO TALK TO YOU....YOU LIVED WITH US FOR A YEAR AND I'M SORRY I MISSED YOU.
