In this satirical comedy, Robin Williams plays comedian Tom Dobbs who hosts a late-night talk show. One night, Dobbs jokes about how he would make a better President than the man now serving. His fans listen to him, stage a grass-roots campaign, and Dobbs wins the election for President of the United States. But, problems arise when electronic voting system technician Eleanor Green (Laura Linney) tries to expose the glitch in her company's machine that falsely totaled the election results.
