  American architect Stourley Kracklite (Brian Dennehy) travels to Italy with his young, pregnant wife, Louisa (Chloe Webb), where they plan to spend months while Stourley oversees an art and architecture exhibit. But, Stourley begins suffering stomach pains, doesn't have much time for Louisa, and Louisa turns to the waiting arms of suave Caspasian Speckler (Lambert Wilson).
