Junon has been diagnosed with leukemia, and it is hoped that one of her children will prove to be an acceptable match for a bone marrow transplant for Junon that will extend her life. As the family gathers together, old wounds are reopened. Elizabeth, for unknown reasons, is especially hostile to Henri who had been banished from the family years ago. Will the results of their lab tests bring the family together, or will more chaos ensue?

Feeling stranded, Marjane returns to Iran but suffers more under the mullahs and, finally, leaves for France when she is 24 and finds a better life.
