The problem is that the ball lands in Mr. Mertle's (James Earl Jones) junkyard, which is guarded by Mertle's snarling dog "The Beast." Now, the fun begins as Scotty and Benny devise ways to get the ball out of the junkyard by building ball-retrieving machines.
