  This film is based on the true story of 100 U.S. soldiers who were dropped into Somalia to capture two lieutenants of a warlord. Their planned one-hour kidnapping raid turns out to be an ambush during which two of the Black Hawk helicopters are shot down in what is now known as 1993's bloody Battle of Mogadishu. Oscars were received for Best Sound and Editing; Ridley Scott was nominated for Best Director.
