Hayward at full throttlemovie-dahl 02/04/2008
Susan Hayward chews up the scenery in a highly entertaining film. That is good enough, folks.

I'm a big Susan Hayward fan, but this is one of her films that was beneath her talent. I noticed that her film company, along with her second husband, Chalkmar, was involved in the production of this flick. I think at that time in her life, when she was happy in her second marriage and no longer lusting after an Academy Award (which she received for her excellent work in 1958 in I Want to Live), she was interested in occasional work which would afford her and her husband the opportunity to travel.

Most of her post-I Want to Live films were inferior, sad to say, including not only Ada, but the awful I Thank a Fool. While Back Street wasn't much better, at least she got to wear very nice fashions. The Honey Pot was a better film, but her role was small.

However, I'm such a big fan of hers, I still watch the clunkers, too.
