During World War II, Major Chick Davis (Pat O'Brien) and Captain Buck Oliver (Randolph Scott) are stationed at a bombardier training school. Meanwhile, Chick and Buck are both romantically interested in Burton Hughes (Anne Shirley) whose father has turned over his bombing school to the government. Their personal lives become subplots leading to a bombing raid over Tokyo when they perform a precision aerial-bombing mission.
