  Penelope (Brigitte Bardot) is a beautician working for the wife of the British security chief. When Harry joins a scheme to steal British secrets, which have been faked to trap the spies, the fun begins.

  In this sequel to the "French Connection," Popeye Doyle (Gene Hackman) is still tracking down drug dealer Frog One (Fernando Rey). This time around, Popeye travels to Marseilles where he becomes a victim when he is captured by Frog One's henchmen and forced to take heroin. They then dump him at a police station where he quits the heroin by the "Cold Turkey" method, recovers, and is back on the job tracking down the drug dealers.

  When Maj. Grau (Omar Sharif) investigates the 1942 murder of a Warsaw prostitute, the evidence points to three German Generals (Donald Pleasence, Charles Gray, and Peter O'Toole). The case remains unsolved, and Grau is taken off the case. Two years later, Grau is in Paris when another prostitute is killed. With help from Inspector Morand (Philippe Noiret), Grau obtains evidence that traps the General, but then Grau is killed. The case continues on until 1965 when Morand confronts the General with the evidence, and then the General kills himself.

  During World War II, Col. Franz von Waldheim (Paul Scofield) orders that art works at the Jeu de Paume Museum be moved to Nazi Germany. In an effort to save the priceless works of art, the head of the museum (Suzanne Flon) convinces railway official and member of the French Resistance Labiche (Burt Lancaster) to delay the train's departure until after the Allied Forces arrive. Using sabotage and deception, Labiche and his colleagues try to find a way to delay the train.
