Waking Life   2001     3 stars    R, 99 min.

Director: Richard Linklater
Cast: Wiley Wiggins, Trevor Jack Brooks, Robert C. Solomon, Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy, Charles Gunning, David Sosa, Alex Jones, Nicky Katt, Carol Dawson, Bill Wise, Caveh Zahedi

Superb computer-animation (filmed as live action then digitally transferred to computers) is used to project philosophical musings of the film's young hero (Wiley Wiggins) who can't seem to figure out if he is awake, dreaming, or even dead. Fascinating.
