This movie takes an up-close and personal look at the original seven U.S. astronauts. It also shows the struggles of test pilots who broke the sound barrier. It is an excellent tale of the adventures pilots experience and manages to catch the spirit of one test pilot in particular: Chuck Yeager (Sam Shepard). In addition to four Oscars, nominations were received for Best Picture and Supporting Actor (Shepard) as well as two others.
