Gort is killed in another crash, and Dallas looks for similarities between the two crashes. He suspects that the planes' design is the problem and that the designer, Nigel Pickering (Noel Willman), has been covering up the information that points to poor design. Is he correct, and can he prove it in order to clear Capt. Gort's name?

Instead of reporting their find immediately, they tie the body to a tree and continue their vacation. When they finally do notify the police, the situation of not reporting the death is met with scorn. Stewart's wife Claire (Laura Linney) is especially concerned, but when she tries to right the wrong, her actions are resented by both the White majorities and the Aborigines in the area.
