During the Napoleonic Wars, French Captain Jacques St. Ives (Jean-Marc Barr) is captured and sent to a POW camp in Scotland. The action begins after he meets a local woman, Flora (Anna Friel), the daughter of her protective mother Susan (Miranda Richardson) and is befriended by the commander of the camp, Major Farquhar Chevening (Richard E. Grant). Loosely based on an unfinished Robert Louis Stevenson novel, his last.
