Jesse even has a "day" job as a respected businessman using the name of Thomas Howard and has a trophy wife, Zee (Mary-Louise Parker), and two children. But the restless Jesse is putting together a new gang made up of second-rate gangsters, which includes young Bob (Casey Affleck) who has collected Jesse James clippings and stories since he was a small boy and idolized Jesse. Another problem that Jesse has is that there is a large bounty on him, dead or alive. As time passes, Bob becomes jealous of Jesse and with the reward he could receive, he decides to kill Jesse, which he does. An interesting study of the two men that is based on Ron Hansen's historical novel of the same name. The film received two Academy Award nominations including Best Supporting Actor (Affleck).
