An old prospector and gang member (Joel McCrea) tells the story in flashback of his (played by Joel's son Jody McCrea) and the gang's massacre of an Indian settlement. One survivor (Marie Gahva) is spared if she will lead them to a hidden gold mine, but the survivor's brother is out for revenge and picks off gang members, one-by-one.
