In Atlanta during the late 1940s, Miss Daisy Werthan (Jessica Tandy) is a proud, stoic Southern lady whose brother hires a Black man, Hoke Colburn (Morgan Freeman), as her chauffeur. The story spans 25 years in their lives as they form a relationship and become kindred spirits in a world that is changing around them. Great entertainment. Academy Awards were received for Best Picture and Best Actress (Tandy). Awards were also received for Best Writing and Makeup, as well as five nominations, including Best Actor (Freeman).
