Aurora Encounter 1986 PG, 90 min. Genre: Family
Director: Jim McCullough Sr. Cast: Jack Elam, Peter Brown, Carol Bagdasarian, Dottie West, Mickey Hays, Tracy Kuehnert, Paula Barrett, Will Mitchell, Charles B. Pierce, George "Spanky" McFarland, Mindy Smith, Carly McCullough
A friendly alien (Micky Hays) arrives in the small town of Aurora, Texas, in 1897, and after Charlie (Jack Elam) drunkenly invites him in for a visit, the town's newspaper editor, Alain Peebles (Carol Bagdasarian), prints a story about the alien. The governor (George "Spanky" McFarland) gets wind of the event and sends in a trigger-happy Texas Ranger (Will Mitchell) to investigate. Good sci-fi fun.

The Strawberry Statement 1970 R, 103 min. Genre: Drama
Director: Stuart Hagmann Cast: Bruce Davison, Kim Darby, Bud Cort, Bob Balaban, Bert Remsen, Jeannie Berlin, James Coco, James Kunen, Carol Bagdasarian, David Dukes
This adaptation of James Kunen's book about Columbia University's riots in the 1960s involves students occupying a campus building to force the issue of their radical philosophy in that historic era. Unfortunately, the story comes across watered down, and the message is lost.
