Goya in Bordeaux   1999     2 stars    R, 98 min.
Genre: Foreign / Drama
Director: Carlos Saura
Cast: Francisco Rabal, Jose Coronado, Dafne Fernandez, Maribel Verdu, Eulalia Ramon, Joaquin Climent, Cristina Espinosa, Josep Maria Pou, Saturnino Garcia, Carlos Hipolito

When this story begins, it is toward the end of the life of Spain's great painter, Francisco de Goya, when he was living in France having left Spain because of turmoil at home. Now Goya (Jose Coronado) reminisces with his daughter, Rosario (Dafne Fernandez), about his life, deafness, and art. Although not a great movie, this film succeeds as a very good study of Goya.
