Overworked architect Michael Newman (Adam Sandler) runs into mysterious Morty (Christopher Walken) who gives him a very special universal remote. This remote allows Michael to mute his jabbering wife, Donna (Kate Beckinsale), and fast-forward through dinners with his parents (Henry Winkler and Julie Kavner). But, it takes over Michael's life. Fast-forwarding does not come without a price as Michael learns when he leaps into the future, misses the years when his children are growing up, and must live without all the little things that make life worthwhile.

The great Broadway and film musical is back with likeable Matthew Broderick in the title role of Professor Harold Hill who blows into River City, Iowa, to con the town into starting a boys band and buying instruments and uniforms from him. The great songs are there, and the atmosphere created by the settings and costumes are fine. Made for TV.
