  In this violent film–a remake of the 1972 movie–gangster Jack Benyon (James Woods) arranges for Doc McCoy's (Alex Baldwin) release from a Mexican jail after making a deal with Doc's wife Carol (Kim Basinger). The deal involves Doc holding up an Arizona race track, and Doc, along with Rudy (Michael Madsen) and Frank (Philip Seymour Hoffman), pulls off the heist. But, problems follow, and Doc and Carol try to escape to Mexico with their stolen million dollars.

  After promising his dying mother that he will never marry, Jack Singer (Nicholas Cage) is faced with the problem of the possibility of losing his girlfriend Betsy (Sarah Jessica Parker) and agrees to Betsy's plan to elope to Las Vegas. Once there, Jack puts off the wedding for a few hours while he plays poker in a game arranged by gambler Tommy Korman (James Caan). Jack loses big time in the poker game, and Tommy offers to clear the debt in return for a weekend with Betsy. Jack convinces Betsy to go, and she and Tommy fly to Hawaii. Now, Jack suddenly finds himself incredibly jealous and, despite pitfalls along the way, frantically goes in pursuit of Betsy. This story is fast-paced and VERY funny.

Along the way, Addie becomes adept at selling Bibles, and Moses is thrilled that Addie is turning into a great con artist as well. In fact, Addie likes working as a team with Moses and even breaks up his romance with Trixie Delight (Madeline Kahn) in order to assure herself a place in Moses' life. The question soon becomes, "Who can out-con the other?" Ryan's daughter Tatum is definitely a chip off the old block, and she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Madeline Kahn was also nominated for Supporting Actress.
