It is the 1950s, and Michael Laemle (Bryan Madorsky) is growing up in his suburban home where he is often exposed to his parents' (Randy Quaid and Mary Beth Hurt) sexuality and suspects that they are cannibals. He reports this to the school's social worker (Sandy Dennis) who investigates and becomes the family's dinner entree.
