During World War II, U.S. Marines are dropped onto a Japanese-held island in the Philippines and have 96 hours to find a spy, Miyazaki (Tisa Chang), who has information on Japanese invasion plans. When their captain is killed, Sgt. Steve Corey (Hugh O'Brian) takes charge. They find Miyazaki and learn that the Japanese have mined the area that the U.S. fleet will be using for the invasion. Now, Miyazaki joins forces with Corey and Pfc. James Grenier (James Mitchum) on a mission to detonate the mines and prepare the area for Gen. MacArthur's invasion.
