Director Breillat's first film was banned in France and not released for 25 years. Seventeen-year-old Alice (Charlotte Alexandra) returns home from school for the summer when she experiences sexual fantasies, often about a sawmill employee of her father's, and even makes passes at her father (who is having an affair with a young woman). She also keeps a diary, which chronicles other bizarre sexual actions and thoughts.
