When the government refuses to take action and the hijackers are released, Jack, with help from his friend Kate Stockton (Charlotte Rampling), is determined to bring the hijackers to justice. In the process, he gains the attention of FBI Agent Jules Bernard (Forest Whitaker) who has his own plans for dealing with the hijackers.

Young psychopath Jonathan Corliss (Matt Dillon) is dating Dorothy (Sean Young), the daughter of wealthy Thor Carlsson (Max von Sydow). Dorothy becomes pregnant and will lose her inheritance when Thor learns about the pregnancy. Jonathan solves the problem by murdering Dorothy. He meets Dorothy's sister Ellen (also played by Young), marries her, and gets a good position in Thor's company. But, when Ellen begins to investigate her sister's death, Jonathan tags Ellen as his next victim.

It seems that the software programmed into thousands of robots worldwide contain a virus that is about to cause major problems. But the genius who programmed the robots committed suicide, and the race is on to prevent the catastrophe. Excellent animation.

After a major bridge is bombed, the Mobile Police–whose job it is to ensure proper use of the robots–are called in to save mankind. The animation continues to be impressive.
