Soon, Violet is bumping and grinding on top of the bar, pouring drinks, and spritzing male customers with seltzer. Get the idea?

  Ballroom dancers Gray (Heather Graham) and Sam (Thomas Cavanagh) are a very close sister and brother team who share an apartment in San Francisco. Neither has been interested in dating until Sam crosses paths with Charlie (Bridget Moynahan) who shares his interests in ballroom dancing, retro styles, and 1940s' movies. Within a very short time Charlie and Sam are married, but problems arise on the eve of the wedding when Gray and a very drunk Charlie kiss. With that passionate kiss, Gray realizes that she is a lesbian and is in love with her brother's wife. Now, it is up to Gray to figure out how to handle this very confusing situation.

He continues his vandalism–until he is arrested. His wife Helen (Bridget Moynahan) is disturbed by his actions, believes that he is having a nervous breakdown, and their marriage ends. But, that doesn't stop David. With encouragement from sympathetic Ekaterina (Margarita Levieva), David takes his case to New York's unsympathetic Mayor Schneer (William Hurt) who outmaneuvers David's efforts and also tries to gain the affections of Ekaterina.
