It is seen by fellow historian Richard (Thomas Gibson) who states that, though it certainly looks like a Vermeer painting, it couldn't possibly be. Thus the history of the picture is presented by Cornelia, tracing how it affected the lives of owners throughout the centuries. A "Hallmark Hall of Fame" TV presentation.
