  Suffering from both physical and mental ills, George Z. Jones (Barry Sullivan) writes a letter to the district attorney telling about his wife Ellen's (Loretta Young) supposed plans to murder him. After Ellen mails the letter, George tells her what it contained, and in the heat of the moment George drops dead. Now, Ellen must find a way to get the incriminating letter before it arrives at the D.A.'s office.

  Scientist/Doctor Paul Beecher (John Beal) received pills from his dying associate who had been conducting experiments on animals to support his work on improving the human brain. Suffering from migraine headaches, he takes his pill to relieve the headache but inadvertently takes the wrong pill. He turns into a killer vampire, and, even worse, the pill is addictive, and he must take it daily–and the killing continues.
