| | Ten is probably too old. | 1fatts 12/02/2007 | The friendliest review I read said something to the effect of "anyone who likes this kind of movie will probably like this movie." The truth is I like this kind of movie: an innocuous romantic comedy with charming leads. And I do find Drew Barrymore charming; I really do. I liked Ever After, even though her British accent was occasional at best. I liked 50 First Dates, even though she only had to act as though she had forgotten yesterday's pages. And she is charming in this. I guess so is Hugh Grant, who is probably getting a little long in the tooth for the stammering-with-a-shy-smile young man. But he was cute enough as well. There was just nothing to hang this fleeting charm upon. The movie ran out of plot 45 minutes before it ran out of film. The Music was poor; the Lyrics were worse.
In her review of this film, Rebecca says: "This movie is very funny. Everybody 10 and older should see this movie." I assume Rebecca is nine or ten. With all due respect to her judgment here, I think: 9 maybe; 10 is probably too old. |
| | Rebecca 03/11/2007 | | This movie is very funny. Everybody 10 and older should see this movie. It has some great scenes. Music and Lyrics is also great for people who like to sing and dance! I suggest everybody should stop by their nearest movie theatre and see Music and Lyrics! |

| | Great family movie | Anonymous 04/04/2009 | This is a fun family movie. Filled with all the fun aspects of having a bachelor take charge of a family of kids. The acting is perfect for a stiff Navy Lt. who in the end becomes softer and understanding of the emotional dynamics of children and teenagers. We loved it.
Those who relished foul language and shoot em ups for their kicks probably won't like it. |
| | Not enough drama or action. | Exposer 05/20/2007 | | The movie is cute but not enough drama or action. It is a little comical on some parts but most of the movie seems fake. Vin Diesel proved once agoin that he can't act. There is a good car chase seen but thats pretty much all the good action. There is a cute ending showing how good all the kids are. Cute movie. Not amazing. |
