Based on Herman Wouk's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, this is a very well-produced, made-for-TV film about the compulsive Captain Queeg (Brad Davis) whose crew mutinies and takes over their minesweeper. Lt. Steve Maryk (Jeff Daniels) led the mutiny because a deadly storm was brewing, and Maryk felt that Capt. Queeg was losing his sanity. The act leads to a court martial. Defense attorney Lt. Barney Greenwald (Eric Bogosian) calls Queeg to testify for the defense–knowing that the only way to win the case is to prove that Capt. Queeg really was incompetent. A compelling story.

But Iceman also has a score to settle with Johnny: when both were police cadets, they were attacked by a gang that left Iceman scarred for life and killed another friend. It's just not fair that Johnny came away unscathed, and so after the obligatory chases, etc., showdown time arrives.
