After losing his entire crew during a helicopter crash in the Bering Sea, U.S. Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer Ben Randall (Kevin Costner) is transferred to the Coast Guard's Aviation Survival Center where he is to teach cadets +survival training. Hotshot high-school swim champion Jake Fischer (Ashton Kutcher) is among the students in Ben's class, and they are destined to clash.
