  When bank loan officer Christine Brown (Alison Lohan) denies an aged customer, Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver), a mortgage extension, the humiliated Mrs. Ganush places the curse of Lamia on Christine. For three days, Christine will suffer until the Lamia drags her down into Hell–unless she can break the curse. With support from her skeptical boyfriend Clay (Justin Long) and help from psychic Rham (Dileep Rao), Christine will try to escape the fate of eternal damnation.

  While walking out their front door, Boston homicide detective Thomas Craven's (Mel Gibson) daughter Emma (Bojana Novakovic) is shot and killed by a masked gunman. At first, it is believed that Thomas was the intended victim, but Thomas discovers evidence that Emma had secrets in her personal and professional lives that resulted in her murder. Clues lead to Emma's corporate boss Jack Bennett (Danny Huston) and sleazy Senator Jim Pine (Damian Young). Thomas does get some help from government operative Jedburgh (Ray Winstone) who has been sent to look into the situation and hide evidence. But, it is Thomas who must uncover the facts.
