When scam-artist Red Diamond (Dennis Hopper) is released from prison along with dim-witted Ronnie (Viggo Mortensen), they join forces. Their new business goes bad when Ronnie kills a treasury agent. The partner of the deceased agent, Jimmy Mercer (Wesley Snipes), wants to avenge the partner's death and is given one week in which to find the killers of his partner before he is transferred. At the same time, Diamond is trying to come up with money owed to the Mafia, and he is trying to deal with his long-suffering wife Mona (Valerie Perrine). A final showdown at the local dance hall lies ahead.

One year ago a young woman, Laura, was murdered, presumably by her boyfriend in a murder/suicide. But the boyfriend's body was never found. Drew (Candace Cameron Bure) comes to town and is told that she bears a strong resemblance to Laura. She then starts having dreams associated with the dead woman. Drew becomes a threat to the real killers when she shares her dreams with the police and to Laura's mother (Teri Garr). Made for T.V.
