  Lifestyles of teenagers–including jobs, sex, and drugs–are wryly depicted in this film. The story is based on Cameron Crowe's book relating his experiences when he returned to high school and pretended to be a student. While stoned student Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) spends much of his time arguing with his history teacher Mr. Hand (Ray Walston), other students–including Stacy (Jennifer Jason Leigh), Linda (Phoebe Cates), Mark (Brian Backer), and Mike (Robert Romanus)–visit the shopping mall, surf, eat fast-food, and experiment with sex. When they do attend class, wild havoc is often the order of the day.

  In this sequel to the 1985 film, the sister, Regine (Julie Carmen), of the vampire killed by Charley (William Ragsdale) and Peter (Roddy McDowall) comes to town to get revenge three years after her brother's murder. Charley meets and falls under the spell of Regine but is torn between her and his love for Alex (Traci Lind). When Charley learns from Peter that Regine is the sister of the vampire they killed, the two once again join forces to stop Regine before she turns Charley into a vampire.

Once there, Greenberg tries to connect with past friends but finds himself spending much of his time with his brother's personal assistant Florence Marr (Greta Gerwig) who has promised to check in on the family's dog. At first, Greenberg does not want to form a relationship with Florence whose personality is the direct opposite of his.
