As a condition of his parole, Wendell takes a job at the Shady Grove retirement home, which is run by Neil King (Owen Wilson) and McTeague (Eddie Griffin) who run a scam that involves stealing residents' medications and selling them on the black market. A reformed Wendell enlists the aid of the residents–including Boyd (Seymour Cassel), Skip (Harry Dean Stanton), and L.R. Nasher (Kris Kristofferson)–in a plan to end the scam and, maybe, get Doreen back in the process.
