Once a professor, Charlie Wood (David Schwimmer) is now married to beautiful policewoman Penelope (Natascha McElhone) and lives in Oregon. He reluctantly takes a job at a software call center and is soon fired for his attitude toward customers. Then, co-worker Gus Dickinson (Simon Pegg) talks Charlie into blackmailing a priest, Rev. Smalls (Mitchell Mullen), who appears to be obsessed with internet porn. Joining them is Josie (Alice Eve), and the trio sets out on a plot that results in more than a few twists and turns as they find themselves in way over their heads.
