While taking care of his schizophrenic sister Joon (Mary Stuart Masterson), Benny (Aidan Quinn) finds his world upset by the arrival of their house guest Sam (Johnny Depp). Sam loves performing Buster Keaton routines and impresses Joon. They fall in love, and their new relationship causes a rift between Joon and Benny but allows Benny to find time for his own pleasures.
