Meanwhile, he wins the affections of a rancher's daughter, Mary Lou Moran (Sally Eilers–Hoot Gibson's wife at the time).

While Panhandle is sleeping, Charley draws a map leading to the gold on the bottom of Panhandle's foot. When they are released from prison, Charley forces Panhandle to go with him back to his old gang, and Charley, unaware of the map on his foot, becomes an important player in retrieving the loot.
