An anthology of four horror tales told by mental patients fill this film with suspense as young psychiatrist Dr. Martin (Robert Powell), who has applied for the job as head of the asylum, is given the assignment of finding out which one of the patients had been in charge of the asylum. In one story, Walter (Richard Todd) murders his wife, and she seeks revenge. Another story involves tailor Bruno (Barry Morse) weaving a coat to bring back his son from the dead. The third story is about schizophrenic Barbara (Charlotte Rampling) inserting her "doppelganger" into Lucy (Britt Ekland). The final story involves toymaker Bryon (Herbert Lom) and his killer robots. A good film for horror buffs.

When the father realized that he could not collect on the boy's insurance, the father substituted another boy for his son, and now the "changeling"–wealthy Joseph Carmichael–believes that John is finding information about his past and could blackmail him.

Problems do lie ahead when Hunac Ceel (Leo Gordon) and his troops attack, but will Black Eagle and King Balam be able to fight together and save their civilizations?

The real reunion occurs with Sally Wells Grant (Deborah Kerr), a local whom he had seduced and left behind during the war, 40 years before. In the process, she overcame many obstacles, including the social issues of the 1890s-1930s in England. Jenny Seagrove plays the young Emma, and Deborah Kerr is the older Emma. Followed by a sequel: "Hold the Dream." Kerr received an Emmy nomination for her acting, and the production was also nominated for Best Miniseries.
