Based on Barry Manilow's song, this made-for-TV effort stars Manilow as a World War II veteran who tries to become a top songwriter while working at the Copacabana nightclub. Along the way he falls for Lola (Annette O'Toole), a dancer at the club. But tragedy strikes when the gangster-owner of the club gets involved.
