Down-on-his-luck director Val Waxman (Woody Allen) gets a break when offered a big budget film. But, the deal includes working with his ex-wife, Ellie (Tea Leoni). To make matters worse, Val suffers a sudden attack of psychosomatic blindness, but the production goes as scheduled–with more than a little help from Val's friends.
