Throughout their trials, everyone seems to sing and dance in this down and dirty musical love story.

Leopold becomes stuck between the American and Railroad executives' interests. Narration of the English-dubbed version is by Max von Sydow, which helps in the understanding of this somewhat confusing, surrealistic film.
