Frank and Diane are now charged with murder. In an effort to sway the jury, Diane's lawyer (Leon Ames) suggests Diane and Frank marry, they do, and are acquitted. After being freed, Frank realizes that he cannot be married to a murderess and tells Diane that he is leaving her. Not a good move because Diane now puts the car into reverse, they fall over a cliff, and hurtle to their deaths.
