Aspiring novelist Gary (A.J. Richards) is an insomniac living in the Yokum Trailer Park where people begin dying in their sleep. Gary cannot sleep, and one night, while his girlfriend Maris (Rita Gutowski) is sleeping, Gary–with help from his neighbor Zachariah (James Viront)–rescues Maris from the clutches of a red-eyed creature known as the Sandman. A fight ensues, and they destroy the hulk. But, as Gary is being driven away in an ambulance, he glances over and sees those red eyes glowing in every window they pass.
