Maybe sending Guppy to Mafia University will help. There, Guppy meets the rival mob boss, the Rodfather (Rodney Dangerfield), and his beautiful daughter, Don Na (Fabiana Udenio). There's going to be a war, it seems, in this unfunny comedy disaster.

Space Truckers   1997     2 stars    PG, 96 min.
Genre: Comedy
Director: Stuart Gordon
Cast: Dennis Hopper, Stephen Dorff, Debi Mazar, Charles Dance, George Wendt, Shane Rimmer, Birdy Sweeney, Vernon Wells, Barbara Crampton, Denis Akiyama

It's 2196 and John Canyon (Dennis Hopper), an independent trucker who is constantly hassled by the big corporations and has his profits taken by his corrupt boss, delivers genetically altered square pigs (for ease of stacking). He agrees to haul a secret cargo bound for Earth, and takes off with two cohorts (Stephen Dorff and Debi Mazar). Engine troubles, space pirates, and a cargo that is an army of robots to take over the Earth add to the "fun". OK, but clearly B-class.

Trancers II   1991     1 star    R, 87 min.
Genre: Sci-Fi
Director: Charles Band
Cast: Tim Thomerson, Helen Hunt, Megan Ward, Biff Manard, Martine Beswick, Jeffrey Combs, Alyson Croft, Telma Hopkins, Art LaFleur, Barbara Crampton

OK–the original, though cheap, was fun. But this one can't get away with the low production values (as they say) without comment. Jack (Tim Thomerson) got stuck in the past (now, 1991) after dealing with the Trancer problem in 1985. He is married to Lena (Helen Hunt) and another Trancer threat emerges, led by Whistler's (from the original) brother. To help Jack out, the 23rd-century council sends his wife back from the future. And you think he had problems before.
